Hi,

I am learning how to repair laptop motherboards.

At the moment I am trying to diagnose a motherboard that does not power on or charge.

I have one capacitor that has caught my attention. It's a 1808 / 10p / 3KV / Multilayer

When testing the CAP using continuity mode - the value stays on 1. No short / No resistance / just no connection.

Is that normal for this type of cap?

hi ado,
Welcome to AAC.
If that is a 10pF I would expect the result you measure.

As a check if you have a 10pF cap spare on the bench, try that, also I guess you know always measure a component when it is not connected into the PCB.
