That's not all together true...but I got an new Arduino Uno and a "kit" for tinkering with it and I can barely see the connections...
Now, I use those cheap magnifying glasses from the dollar store all the time and they work for just about everything...
But these components are very small and the writing on the boards, etc are very small.
I have....somewhere...a pair of those jeweler glasses that fit over your head.....
Question....
What do all of you use to be able to see ...and work with your bread board and these small components and such...?
Any ideas on what all of you guys use?

For fine work (SMT assembly, etc...) I find 'bioptics' indispensable

My prescription glasses plus a pair of drugstore cheaters...or a 10X jewelers loupe.
Don't forget the intense light. It closes your iris and reduces the effects of your corneal defects.

 

I use +6 reading glass combined with a big magnifying glass - I have one hand-held and one stationary. I would love to use binocular microscope, but they're expensive

If you can't see the connections/writing on an arduino then your first step should be to go get your eyes checked.

 

All of the above for me.

Reading glasses for the most casual of magnification.

Headband magnifier when I want hands free vision (very useful for building) or when I want to walk around announcing "we are Borg."

A lab quality Bausch and Lomb microscope for very detailed images.

A USB Microscope especially when I need to point out something to another person.

 

I use my very high powered eyes and sometimes a magnifying glass.....

 

When necessary a 10x doublet and a white LED (can't always read the color codes under florescent light).

 

I use a microscope (x10 I think).

@bwilliams60 - I think that comment might have been tongue in cheek.

I am very near-sighted, so my vision sans corrective lenses is like a microscope. That is, until I had a hemorrhage in my eye. But I can see a board if I look with one eye. Unfortunately soldering with no depth perfection is difficult. The Doc says it will return to normal in a month or two.

I got it. I was just being facetious. You could strap the scope to your head

 

Using the cheap webcam to enlarge the pcb, and you can also adjust the focus to get a clear picture.

Fortunately my eyes aren't that bad yet . But I have a USB microscope (Intel variety), and a high magnification inspection station to use when the time comes.
