Can I use an mps8550 semiconductor instead of a mps8050?

I may be in the wrong place, but it seems like there are a lot of smart people here, so I'm hoping someone can help me.

I'm a rank beginner to electronics. I purchased an Elenco AM radio kit, and I think they gave me the wrong semiconductor, which leads to the question in the thread title.

The parts list includes an mps8550, but the kit has an 8050.

Are they interchangeable? I've seen information online saying that they are "complementary", which leads me to believe that they are, but I'd like to confirm before I proceed.

I apologize if this is an inappropriate venue for this question.

First, thank you so much for your response. It is greatly appreciated.
That is, indeed, the kit, but mine is a newer version.
In mine, there are 7 transistors:
Q1-Q4 are "2N3904 Transistor NPN" (included in kit)
Q5 is "2N3906 Transistor PNP" (included)
Q6 is "MPS8050 or 6560 Transistor NPN" (8050 included)
Q7 is listed as "MPS8550 or 6562 Transistor PNP" (instead, another MPS 8050 is included)

Q4-Q7 are components of the audio amplifier.

If more information is required, I'll do my best to provide it. Thank you again.
