Can I convert 110V to 220V?

Hi All

I recently purchased an amp for a speaker and found that it is a 110V one (After frying 2 of 330uF 200V Caps). The supplier didn't indicate that it is a 110V amp. I have old amp which is on 220V. If I change only the transformer from that 220V to the new 110V amp, will it work as a 220V amp? Everything else on the amp looks identical.

it might...it might not, you will have to check the secondary voltages, and the power ratings.

If they both step down to the same voltage, you might be good.

To be clear, you have two identical audio amplifiers, same manufacturer and model number, the only difference between them is the line voltage, and there is no switch or dual primaries or any other way to configure the amps for the two line voltage ranges?

They are of the same manufacturer
The speaker is rated at 1000W peak. There is no switch or dual primaries.
Two of the 330uF 200V caps popped out on the 100V amp.
Before it popped out, two fuses 3.15A had blown from the plug.
On the 220V amp, the rating of these caps are 330uF 200V as well.
So my guess is that the transformer is the only difference between the two?
