My mental working model of these is theat inside the little box are 3 triacs and a touch sensor wire. Touching moves it to activating the next triac. These in turn are wired to the respective leads to the 3way base in the lamp.
Initially off.
Touch 1 turns on high.
Touch 2 turns on M, but that's not connect. So result is off.
Touch 3 turns on L, but if Land H are both wired, it turns on.
However this does NOT work if it's designed to turn on single triac for variable amounts of time.
How would I tell:
A multi triac device with have 2 wires in for power, and 5 wires out for sensor, L, M, H and ground Ground may internally be connect to supply ground. So either 6 or 7 wires total.
A single triac device will have 2 wires in for power, and 3 wires out: Sensor, Lamp, ground. Ground may be connected internally. So 4 or 5 wires total.
I want to change several lamps at home to simple toucn on, touch off. But all the devices on amazon are either 10 bucks each or are these HML-off versions.
