Burst/pulse skipping control of resonant converter at low/no-load

I am looking into controlling a resonant converter during a pulsed load (the pulse causes load current to go to 0A).

I have seen online that this is usually done by something called pulse skipping/burst mode control.

From what it seems, we set up upper and lower hysteretic limits. When the output voltage reaches the maximum limit, the switches turn off, and when the output voltage reaches the minimum limit, they are turned on again.

To me, this just seems like normal hysteretic voltage mode control? Is this true, or are there some distinct differences that I am unaware of? My plan is to trigger this burst mode when the load is triggered OFF and disable it when the load is reconnected.

Any comments welcomed.
