Another confession: My grandfather made western bolo ties and I still have one (which I might just wear out to the pub one night).

I have the one my father gave me and it's still in the same box 40+ years later after wearing it maybe once for a big family event and much later at a good friends funeral. It's some sort of Silver with turquoise and coral so maybe its provided protection from evil spirits, werewolves and ex-wives all these years.
