Hi, managed to make DIY auxiliary lights with info shared by helpful people on this website. Stuck at the last leg, so need some help.
I have made a circuit with 120W led lights running on a 12V 15amp wiring harness. Most push button switches use a 12vdc 50mA spec. Is this the right spec switch I should be using or a) do I need to create a resistor circuit around it or b) use a different spec switch. All help is sincerely appreciated.

For your 120W LED lights running on a 12V, 15A wiring harness, a push button switch rated for 12VDC 50mA is not suitable, as the current draw for your setup can reach up to 10A (120W / 12V = 10A), which far exceeds the 50mA rating of the switch.

Options:

Instead of powering the lights directly through the push button switch, you can use the switch to control a relay. The relay can handle the higher current needed for the lights, such as 12V and 15A. This way, your switch will only need to handle the low current required to activate the relay. A good option would be 1-1414761-0 (rated for 12VDC and 30A, providing a good safety margin).

Or you could use a push button switch rated for at least the current your lights will draw. In this case, a switch rated for 12V and 15A or higher would work well.
