Hi,

The bandwidth available for transmitting this information to another two-way radio 64kHz.
Show that it takes about 10 seconds to transmit 1 million bits of information from one radio to the other?

I equate 64kHz to baud.
(1/64kHz) x 1000 0000 = 15 seconds???????

A cable which a signal is traveling has a bandwidth of 2Mhz. Use calculations to explain why this limits the transmission of four-bit words to about 700 000 per second?

(1/4) x 2Mhz = 500 000???????

Im struggling to find any good article on this subject.

The four bit words have one start & stop bit.

This is my new attempt:

2 Mhz / 4 = baud rate = 500 000
500 000 x 6 = 3 000 000 bits per second (bps)
= 750 000 four-bit words (3 000 000 / 4)

Looks better?
