I did a bit of checking around and the Explorer16 PIC DSP evaluation board in addition to the Audio Daughter board may be a pretty cheap way to get into the DSP development business. The main board costs $130. The Daughter board costs about $80 dollars. The software comes with the main board. You will need a power source so you would be spending around $250 for this approach. I would recommend you do a good deal of research into DSP design programming before you commit to tackling the real thing.

DSP can involve some pretty complex math such as FFT and Z-transformation. I assume that your user ID infers that you are very interested in these mathematical concepts.

I now because PIC you have to pay for the software.

Anyway thank you for your help I learned alot.

All set now though.

I am not going to get the DSP stuff.

I am assuming a few DAC and ADC chips are alot of money as well ?
