Hi,im working up some projects using Atmel's at89s51.
I had searched at the shop for the programmer(downloader) and found that its too expensive.
So,i want to do a simple programmer for at89s51 so that i can upload hex file from my laptop to the chip at my home.
Is there any possible to do a simple circuit as i mentioned above using usb port because im using laptop?
And i need some simulator for this uc.Can suggest some?

No hardware is needed beside the bi-directional buffer chip. Use the parallel port to download your hex code to the AT89S51. I have use this before. It works!

But i want to transfer the hex code via usb replacing serial port.
Is that possible?

 

If you want to download hex code to the 8051 via USB, then i will suggest that you use the Atmel AT89S5131 which is a 8051 derivative. This chip has a USB port and can directly receives hex code via USB from the PC using a free software called the Atmel FLIP.
