I have an APC Smart UPS 1500 with a bad capacitor. It reads 105K 250V MPE. What are my options to replace this capacitor? I can't seem to find the exact one on mouser. cheers.
@dendad the link correctly calls out a 1µF cap (105K, the K being representative of tolerance or something else, not sure, but 105 is 1,000,000Pf, which is the same as 1,000Nf, which is the same as 1µF. But the picture in the link shows a 475K, which would be a 4.7µF cap. No? Am I reading this wrong? A "Four", a "Seven" and "Five Zero's"?
And how did you determine that this cap is bad? Fully diagnose the problem before you start throwing parts at it. You could end up with a whole new board for your fuse.
I did not spot the picture on the Mouser web site shows the wrong part but a re-look there I spotted a note to say the pictures are only a representation of the part.
As for the crook cap, if you look at the second photo, the lower cap is the one that shows blobs of insides trying to get out.
It may be worth while removing that one and confirming the value is the same as the top cap.
