Hey wasn't it just a couple of months ago you weren't standing at all? Sounds like you really did not get badly hurt so just think the fall as huge progress. ;) You could just lie in bed for the rest of your life and you wouldn't fall but what is that getting you? Congrats for taking a risk. Now just don't hurt anything! Oh your pride doesn't count, that comes with the territory off taking chances. ;)

Everything you've just said is good news... except for the "nasty fall" part... heck, even its hurting a little can be interpreted in a positive way... keep up the fighting attitude, it seems that you're beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel...

Went to the hospital on Friday and Scheduled surgery for bladder stones. I have been in intense pain for the last month Maybe this will stop that(I can only hope). Pain really wears you down on the long term. I find myself in an odd place.I have been very distracted over the last few weeks.

We need only go back to the first post in this thread to see the constant progress. I just seem to really feel good about your progress and there will be setbacks but that is how it works. The gains offset the setbacks and the end result is progress. As to the pain? Try to see pain and manage the pain as weakness leaving the body. Overall you are doing very well from what I have seen and read. Keep hanging tough.

Weekend can be bad A lady comes by during the week and help me get out of bed No such relief on weekends.I am mostly an optimist and a people person. I get down but I usually pull my spirits up.

It is my guess but I bet different health issues come with the territory of your condition due to relative inactivity?
Mostly due to lack of exercise. The hospital tests show I have no control over my bladder I am an advert for catheters.

A fall that doesn't hurt is bad news for stroke victims. So, you may not have enjoyed the event or the pain but things are starting to work.

Been an interesting Week I have made some serious headway If the wheelchair is in position I cam move myself by myself into it. Just as important I can get myself back to bed. I have surgery scheduled at the month to rid my self of bladder stones that have been hurting like heck.Actually it is spelled with two Ls.and my left leg shows sign of me bending it at the knee under my will. This strikes me as part of the path to walking again. It gives me hope. I have no illusions when a PT gets their hand on me It is going to hurt. a lot. I am more than willing. It might take years, but I am planning for the long haul.. When I decided to loose my weigh I started at 275 pounds and got downto155 I suspect I weigh even less now.. I was walking up to 10 miles in a day. before I had my surgery. If I had continued I probably wouldn't have had this stroke.Hindsight being 20/20.
