iam using adc 0804 in my project. it is used to convert a slow varying signal(0-5v,in 20s) to digital value. should i use an external sample and hold circuit?
or is there any internal sample and hold circiut in it.
also what is its internal clock frequency

There is no sample and hold on board and the internal clock frequency is set using an R and C.

Are you free running it or is it controled by a micro?

Let me know if you want more info, I have used these in many applications and they are a great little A to D.
