So I bought this levitating moon. In trying to balance it on its face with one hand( it is very finicky) I dropped it and broke the bottom off, being a techie nerd I took pictures while it was apart and then posting them here. I am currently printing a 3D jig to help balance this thing with one hand.

it is a very neat effect Colin a bit expensive but worth it for me. There is a strong magnet in the base and in the globe they use counter EMF to balance the forces to cause levitation.

Those things are very dangerous. I remember the NY Blackout and one of those things caused it.

On another note I think the picture is of the base and those things are really pretty cool.

The globe. Many other similar ones will charge a cell phone without a cord if the cell phone has that option. There must be a really intense magnetic field on the wooden base to create the counter EMF.
