Can someone Please help me with the pin description of irf540... I want to know the pin number for the drain, source etc.

Inasmuch as the datasheet doesn't make it overly easy to 'spot'...

Explicitly:
Front view, tab up, Left to Right:
Gate, Drain, Source

The Tab is connected to the Drain
