To generate a "perfect" triangle wave will require a constant current source for both the charge and discharge parts of the capacitor voltage. Some CMOS triangle circuits do that fairly well. Possibly the 555 timer also does it well, I don't know.

The circuit in post #8 is exactly what I was thinking about. Then the op-amps are required to remove the inherent DC level of the triangle wave, and to provide a better output impedance.
I do wonder what sort of "Other Engineer Type" the TS is. I really miss the more detailed descriptions that we used to have. Then I could have some idea as to what sort of resources a TS might have available.
