I disagree. A willingness to openly admit to who you are and how you came to be and why you will fight for what fair and good is never something to be ashamed of having done.I won't get into it anymore, enough about me I'm getting sick just talking about it, my apologies again. It's like liberal a 'virtue signaling' but you have actual virtue and having done virtuous actions to back it up instead of a selfish hollow agenda (you really don't want getting revealed) behind it.
BTW, regarding communism, my Great-Great Grandparents from my Moms-Dads-Mothers branch of my ancestors starved to death in communist Russia after having given everything they had to get her a one way ticket on a boat over to the US as a mail order bride or my Great grandpa.
That's what I have for first hand historical account of what communism did for people in my heritage.
