This certainly explains how much I don't know about chemistry! (I didn't even know @wayneh had a background in chemistry.)
It also explains why my nose gets so unhappy after I spray Clorox in the bathroom.:D

I can read the equations, but I never got far enough into this to know atmospheric gasses got involved.:(
I had a nasty chemistry teacher and he assigned grades like the more people failed, the better his job security was.
I couldn't stay on the Honor Roll with him giving me "C" grades in a 5 point course after I aced all the tests.:(
I mean, c'mon. It was Quant, Chemistry 101, and I was in Calculus 101. How could I mess that up?

So anyway, thanks for the lessons. You two look as awesome as an A/C guy running loose on an electronics Forum.:p

At about 1990 I owned a flat in five floor building of so called `Lithauanian series 103 project` and unhappily the wall had somewhere un-findable defect, the water was little bit coming in-between mured walls, so the damn poisonous mold was blossoming to make me concerned.

I bought and checked all possible chemicals claiming effective against mold. The effect had three days or so about. The one my good friend take from Australia the "tropical mold killer". That was so poisonous that instruction said to work in insulating gas-mask. It kept about month.

Then I got angry and mastered a monster-killer apparatus. The street lightning lamp DRL-800 of high pressure quick-silver in hydrogen ampoule of 800W strong 254nm UV line. Beat off the outhern bulb, let the UV inner quartz ampoule is nude. Switch on and one day sleep at hotel. When we came back, the mold was reverting snow-white from it`s natural black colour, all the furniture wood was white too, inspite we had dark brown before it, and what was not killed by UV, was killed by strong ozone generated by this damn weponry.

But too soon there happened marriage disruption bacillus flushing into the air, so after few months we sold that flat and divided the money half to half. How sad story!

After some three years at the marketplace one man was shivering me by shoulder and saying hello. I looked, damn, that a buyer of that flat. I wanted to fall down the globe somehow flashlikely, but nowhere to run, so I find nothing better as to ask, how the flat, do You are happy with it.
The most strange was his answer - yes, completely..... Thus, the mold was killed forever.

Now I produced few fresh such devices and advertized in the local medias that I am effective to witchcraft the wall-type of molds away for cheap.
But in the two year term NONE was even phoned to ask about pricing. There is no thanks for any good job man had been done in this World :)
