-6dB loss phemonena in differential pair signaling question

Hello , in the lab I test two port SDD21 line.So basickally we have 4 connectors but we made two diffential ports in the VNA as shown below.
port 1 is 1 3 ,port 2 is 2 4/

Some times I see -6dB in the sdd21 result i was told its because we have some line cut.
What is the logic in this -6dB problem cause on sdd21?
