I really need some help in this one. I know I can be lazy and buy a hub for next to nothing but where is the fun and education in that. So here goes. I am designing a case for my Raspberry Pi 3 and I want to move my usb ports from the original location using a hub. So I want to design and build a powered 4 port usb hub that runs off the power supply for my rapsberry pi and only use one of the four ports on my Raspberry Pi. I honestly don't know where to start or how a hub really works and would really like some help if anyone can. I am using rs online for all my components as I have a power board that I have designed and only they have the components I need in my country. Can you guys please help me. The part that I'm stuck on is choosing the right IC for the hub. Thank you in advance
