Hello can anyone tell me how to design a combinational circuit which can produce a 2's compliment of a 4 bit binary number?

Do i have to design it by the equations formed for each bit results in a truth table or its something else....

i have designed it for every bit separately.... but whats the right procedure ? Thanks !

 

Sounds to me like you are doing it right, now you just have to figure out the gates that will implement the logic.

Basically, all you do is negate the number and add one, so it will be a couple of not gates and then an adder, right? Good luck.
