What a bargain, at a bit less that $12,000 considering the almost obsolete 1 TB drive is $300.

The problem I have with my 500 GB Samsung drive in RAID 0 is that about once a year, it needs to rebuild. At my age, I buy smaller drives to minimize the rebuild time.

What are you saying, that a $115 drive is not even close to a $12,000 one? Should I ask for my money back?
It's mainly consumer vs a Enterprise class drive SAS drive. The SATA drives in that unit at $115 are a much slower and less reliable subset of the complete SAS command set and specification for a Enterprise class drive SAS drive.

I understand. It was a, perhaps misguided, attempt at humor. BTW, the drive I referenced does not have SATA 3 it is USB3 only. Probably slower, (debated here http://www.overclock.net/forum/20-hard-drives-storage/1465740-sata-6-vs-usb-3-speeds.html and probably many other places). But, it is of little consequence to me. The drive serves as a backup which I let run overnight. My 2 TB filled up (that had both SATA and USB) and I was pleased to be able to address the issue at a very low cost while preserving the existing backups.
