hi Djp,
Welcome to AAC.
That current seems rather high for a laptop charger. from 15A to 8.5A.
Typically they are in the order of 2-3 Amps

I have the normal 220V charger and it say's on the output 8.5A and 20V. I need to build one for the 24V battery
Thanks but I already bought a 20V charger with 4.5A but is not enoughhi D,
Although charger is rated for a maximum output current of 8.5A, the laptop that is charging will draw the required charge design current, say 2 to 3Amps.
To get down from I need to get from 24V down to 20V , you could buy a ready built step down converter.
I will check on eBay and post back.
