Hi All,

I am looking for a charge controller IC to charge a 24v lead acid battery from un regulated power supply the spec:

VIN: 10v-14v dc source. current in max 10A
VOUT 28.5V I out 3A max.

Appreciate for any avilable assistance?

Thank you,

Hi Albert,

Thanks for your suggestion, i will look in this list.

Besides that, can you please advice how you can know if a certain dc-dc step-up switch regulator can work with unregulated VIN voltage? taking on considertaion that the max gurenteed voltage within ic VIN limits. is there any detail or thumb rule to look for in the ic data sheet to know if it capable to work with unregulated VIN?

They will all work with unregulated Vin. For any particular IC you would need to work through the calculations to get the correct values for the capacitors and inductor. Those calculations will also give the switch current which must be less than the maximum specified. Most manufacturers give details of these calculations for their chips, and some have a 'designer' into which you can plug your values and it will generate suitable values. There is no giant short cut.
