i have this board that requires 12v to power up

is it possible i can add some 12v to 5v converter to make it work turn it on

 

Do you mean you want run this board from a 5V supply? That can certainly be done. There are many ready-built modules which can convert a 5V input into a 12V output.

yes your right , this board requires 12v power from battery so i need something light wight so its not heavy as i am trying to add these to my drone so i need light as possible.

i need to some how convert smaller battery into 12v power can u recommened me some boards from ebay cheap

 

I don't have experience of using them but I know they're out there. You will need to know how much current you need at 12V.

 

I think there is only a couple of points to address.

One what is the Current Requirements that you need for your system to work?
How much you want to spend?

There are many many systems out there. Some are Smaller then one would expect when you see pictures of them they look rather large. Then when you get them you find they are very small lol. j

Here is a Buck/Boost converter that will give you around 90% Efficiency going from 5 volts to 12. However it only give 200ma of current. I think that will be only drawback on trying to do a Boost

how long will the low voltage battery last in that case , since its using this board to output 12v
