This is my 10,000 post to AAC and although there is nothing inherently important about that number, our brains assign importance to nice round numbers.

So, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the founder (@jrap), moderation staff, regulars, and not-yet-regulars who have made this a place I return to over and over. I have spent many hours learning from the AAC "brain trust" and by helping others.

When I first came to AAC, I had no idea that I would find an online home with people and content I enjoy—but I did.

So thank you, all of you, who contribute to AAC by your presence and generosity, and even by coming here and asking questions that make me challenge my own knowledge and learn where I had errors, fuzziness, and gaps—and provoking research that led to new areas I hadn't considered.

With luck, I will post 10,000 more posts before my time is up. In any case, you all have my gratitude for collaborating on something that has made my life better than it would have been without you.

Strangely, although my message count said 9,999 as I composed the TS message, it still said 9,999 after I posted it—so this one is either 10,001 and there is a laggy counter, or this is 10,000 in which case, read the above as:

"As I approach my 10,000th post to AAC, I reflect on my time here..."

So, in light of Berus' comment, I now realize I have many more than 10,000 posts. Just how many more I can't say because thanks for an odd intermittent bug related to the apostrophe in my username, I can't always be tagged or used as a search term.

Maybe you have 16,384. That's a much more significant "round number" for a binary counter!
