And if the case is held closed with 36 screws, it last one you get to is the one that is frozen and can't be turned.
This is all to common.

The other is that if you have huge stock of various screws, the one that is destroyed by any of the above laws will be of a type you do not have.

When I moved to my new house around 2 years ago I encountered this problem all the time. To help sort my screws I bought a red-box with lots of little compartments to store all and any spare screws I had. Needless to say "Sods Law" takes precedence and I still never have the screws I need, but at least I don't have screws strewn all over the house!
