Use a NO reed sw.[no magnet close ], mount on door frame. Mount magnet on door close to switch. Check for sw. continuity with door closed.

I don't know what you're using to create your schematic, but you'd be better off using something like Cadsoft's Eagle Layout Editor.

It's quirky to learn in the beginning, but you can go from making a schematic to generating a PCB. The free version is limited to 2 layers, and 3"x4" boards - but you can still do a lot with it.

There are a number of Microchip uP's in the libraries already.

You might consider using a PIC16F886 or PIC16F887; they have a reasonable amount of memory, lots of I/O pins, you don't have to fiddle with an external oscillator or crystal, and they're inexpensive.
