Make With Mouser IoT Design Contest: MULTI-OPERATION POWER MANAGEMENT Kit

Introduction about Hardware:
Analog Devices ADP5360CB-EVALZ Evaluation Board is designed to help evaluate the features and performance of the ADP5360, a battery management PMIC. The evaluation board supports an external USB dongle connection. It includes a graphic user interface (GUI) software that allows the user to evaluate the comprehensive functionalities provided by the I2C interface. Are the important functions to test the battery operation and control the buck voltage and boost voltage and the output are visualized in the GUI software. This evaluation board can be used in the multipurpose operation in supplying the voltage to the battery, buck and a buck boost switching regulator, and a supervisory circuit.

Requirements:
ADP5360CB-EVALZ Evaluation Board:
Is used to selected for Buck and Buck-Boost Voltage to be applied for suitable application hardware as the embedded hardware all will not function at same power ratings in that case this hardware is very much useful to supply suitable power.

USB-SDP-CABLEZ board: It is used to communication the EV kit and laptop for selection and monitoring the operations. It is a USB to Serial (I2C) protocol device which display the real-time operations on the GUI.

Laptop: To monitor the Real-time operations and to control the operations via GUI.

Multi-meter: In stead of end-user module I would like to show the power rating on the multi-meter voltage mode to check the correctness of output power.

USB cables: To power the ADP5360CB-EVALZ Evaluation Board and USB-SDP-CABLEZ board

INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE:
The related software are installed on the PC working with WINDOWS 7 is also preferable. My laptop is having Windows 7 OS.

Below is the complete setup for BUCK and BUCK_BOOST Operation mode.

The detail selection of BUCK or BUCK BOOST voltage are shown in the below videos. Based on the Power rating of the embedded hardware, we can selected suitable power to avoid overheating damages to the hardware.




During the BUCK mode the output at GUI and on the Multi-meter are same.

Their is ONE more operation for Fuel gauge function for battery due to pandemic situation I could not enter into the lab to demonstrate those function.

Conclusion:

Their are many sensor modules working at different power ratings, If the power supply choosing is the challenging problem then this kind of evaluation kit help in selecting suitable power source. Instead of purchasing suitable power rated devices.
