I just had a crazy brain fart.. I need a 24V zener however i was able to get 2 12V zeners locally..

OK so I want to connect them in series.. here is a picture I "think" I got it right but not sure.. because when I check the voltage I only get about 12 VDC which is not right because I had a 470 Ohm resistor in place before to check if a diode was bad and that got me 18 V.

The zeners are NOT correctly in series.
The anodes are tied together now.
If you want the two zeners in series the anode of one is connected to the cathode of the other.
