Do you understand the importance of Laplace transform in relation to the Fourier Transform? Can I hear your explanation?

Do you understand the difference between a continuous and discrete signal?

Wikipedia pretty much sums up what you have asked.

It's basically the laplace transform in discrete time. I have nice memories of it in last semester's DSP course

If you don't know what it is or what it does, then you probably don't need to know about it. Do you have a text book that covers that subject?

Nice one Ratch,

Convince the original poster that their interest is futile and unfounded. Be nice!

Exactly. And its properties are also listed there. It's just that the fourier transform doesn't exist for certain values.

And Ratch, come on. Text books often speak in a language that someone new to the subject doesn't understand all too well. There's nothing wrong with asking for help...
