I wonder If any member could post dots on U.S. cities map
where our members are represented or states. Anyone up to It,
Maybe it would encourage our members world wide-like temp U.S.
Example Student in (Washington) or there country. Have a little
pride.

 

Wonder if there is a forum add-on that would do the map automatically from the location field. Might also encourage members to fill in that field.

 

They are around but one site I used to frequent used one that gave my location and employer (if I browsed from work). I no longer use that site (if I want people to know who I work for I'll them myself).

A map where members can place their own pins would be preferable in my opinion. some people may not want their location known.

 

Google has such a site, I remember seeing it on Major Geeks (they have a similar project). I think it needs some setup, but then all you need to post is a link.

I like the map that is lay out so you can see the entire world,
not the globe.Put your pin where you want it,I don't want any one

No, Finland is not part of the netherlands.
It is one of the scandinavian lands.
Those are Finland , Sweden and Norwegian.

The Netherlands lies between England and Germany.

I actually quite like this idea, it would be ideal if it was automated directly from the Location field though.

Although this is for an older version of vB than what we are using. I also note that some of these types of add-ons have a range of vulnerabilities (some patched some not) which could present issues.
