I have PC speakers hooked up to my PS3 since I'm too cheap to buy a $3000 receiver and surround sound speakers. So I use PC speakers and a HD monitor. Big problem.. nether have a remote so I need to change the volume I need to go get up and walk over to turn the little dial for change the volume.

I want to build a IR circuit, so oner side Stereo input, other side stereo output. But inside the hobby box too, an IR transmitter to be compatible with a universal remote to change volume.

Could someone help me out with this?

You could also change the volume at the headphone.
I'm not sure what you mean.. maybe I need to re-phrase myself to be more clear. I didn't actually mean headphone so that was a poor choice of words, by that I meant 3.5mm jacks.

So basically want to build a pass-through box. Red and white stereo in on one side and 3.5mm out on the other side but with a circuit in between the two to control the output volume of the 3.5mm jack. To be more specific a IR that can detect the signal from a universal remote to change the volume.
