Hi there, this is my first thread, I'm new too electronics but know the basic due to my knowledge of electrical workings, anyway my question is, I have a motion dectector kit that runs off a 12v supply and a Halloween prop that runs off 3x AA batteries the prop had a rubbish sound activated trigger, I want to replace the sound active trigger with the sensor but will the 12v supply give like a back feed into the prop, therefore affecting/activating the Halloween prop?

Let the motion detector fire a relay, then use the relay to switch the Halloween prop on /off

If you could force the prop into an always-on state, then you could probably control it with power on/off with the motion detector.

Otherwise, hacking one sensor in place of another requires seeing the schematic and/or circuit boards. It may be easy to do, but not blindly.
