why DC supply is not used or transmission

and the capacitancde of the dc line does not add to the loss, except when energizing and de energizing the line. charge current. but with ac, there are capacitive effects, and even wavelength typ effects. a lot of people dont think of 50 or 60 heartz having a wavelength, but transmission line theory and formulas still are active. even swr on 60 Hz.

Where I live there are many Hydro generating stations with long distance transmission, for a few years now they have converted to DC transmission for a few reasons.
The losses are much lower, the reduction in conductors, also lightening strikes are less troublesome as they are prevented in traveling though the system to the end user as they are prone to in AC.
The millions in savings offset the cost of the DC switching equipment required to convert back to AC.

can you tell me what is the mode of propagation used for DC transmission in a cable,and what makes it to be less error prone.

There are a few areas where the losses are reduced using DC, Capacitance effect losses are one the largest losses in AC transmission.
