Hello All,

I have a quick quesiton on the defiition of "the number of turns" in Wheeler's equation of inductance for "Multilayer Air Core Coils". I have a coil that is (6) diameters deep by (2) diameters in length - is this considered 2 turns, 6 turns, or 12 turns? Please see the attached picture for reference.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'd say 12 turns. Seems that you would also need average radius?
