firstly i will say hello to all of you, my name is Mario and i'm from Quebec, canada.

So here comes the question,I have a 2008 mitsubishi lancer, bought evo X headlights (projectors) to run HID in them. the car runs a square wave signal to the DRL which i know can be defeated by a device consisting of a mosfet a cap and some resistors ( http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/4231/picture001mediumfx8.jpg )

thats what it looks like , the values are in option 3 on this link http://forums.projectlancer.net/topic/57355/1/

what i would like to do is to not have to install this apparatus on the car and in fact removing the factory FET and replacing it with a switch, would that be possible based on people knowledge here and the stock headlight diagram i am providing

thank you for helping me out !

The FET is probably used to dim the original headlights for daytime running lights.
I don't know if you can dim HID lights and if they operate at full brightness during cloudy days then they will blind all other drivers.

It is illegal to modify the lighting on cars in Ontario. Maybe also in Quebec.
Because too many "little" kids are making a mess of modifying the lights on their little Honda cars.
