Piezoelectric sensors can be used , but what if I wanted to use something less expensive?

 

Do you mean something more elaborate than what a smartwatch can do with its accelerometers? The cool kids use lots of those little reflective sensors at the joints and do motion capture.

 

I'm rather looking for something that you could add to a readmill . I want it to detect a footstep, measure its force and whatnot.

 

Oh, like maybe something embedded in the runner's shoes? I think that's been done. That won't tell you anything about the knee and hip positions and so on. Is that what you intend?

 

How many and what kind of parameters do you need for the walking gate analysis?

I would like some kind of a piezoresistive or piezoelectric sensor that's large enough? (Or maybe I could use some extra supports ) I also have a problem with the size of a single sensor since I have a limited number of them that I can actually use.
