Hi all

What is the "right" amplification fator of an IF amp vo/vin ?

Thanks

There is no right answer. It is whatever the receiver requires to do it's job. I can tell you that the total amplification from antenna to audio amplifier is 10-12 orders of magnitude or 100-120 dB. does that help?

The right gain can vary from 5X to 50X.
Depends on the distance and strength of the radio signal.

This difficult design problem led to the development of AGC circuits to level out gain settings across strong and weak stations.
