So I was going through my garage today and looking to get rid of some junk that's in there. I found 4 d-10-100 satellite receivers. They have everything with them. The power chords, cards, and remotes.

I wanted to make sure they weren't good for anything before I threw them away. Any of ideas on what a guys could make out of these?

 

They're good for parts
voltage regulators, diodes, capacitors, etc...

 

They might have a high frequency divider in the RF section that would make a great front end for a frequency counter. Read the part numbers from the ICs and search for the datasheets.

There is probably a large toroid with the mains power wires wound through it several times. You can use these for lots of things such as low frequency inductors and transformers for switching power supplies. You may also find a number of CMOS digital ICs, switching transistors, and a variety of capacitors.
