What are these pin connectors called and used for - And do they have multiple names and purposes?

Generically called Header connections or pins, they can be found on the likes of Digikey etc.
Another popular version is the IDC types. Multipin Headers.
All multi-purpose.
Those shown in the pics, appear to be used for both AC and DC power pins.

Do you know if its common to find a cable with a DC barrel jack at one end and the other end a 4 pin connector with capacity of 50W?

I would not say it is common, but probable.
The designer of the system uses what they see fit.
If the barrel jack is for DC power, generally only two pins would be necessary?

What about powering two identical DC devices? providing they stay within the capacity the PSU is rated at, that should be ok right?
