I found a CRT computer monitor on the curb thats been rained on. If I dry it for a few days do you think it will work? Would anything be permanently damaged inside b/c of the water? I'm a little hesitant to even turn it on.

If it was left on the curb, it was put there for a reason.
"Functioning perfectly" was probably not the reason.

Getting it soaking wet may or may not help the problem.

A long time ago, I took the chassis out of an old tube-type TV that was covered in dust, spider webs, and other nasty stuff. I hosed it down quite well and left it to dry in the sun for several days.

I put it all back together - and wouldn't you know, it actually did work.

Lately, monitors tend to fail due to HV problems (flyback transformers are a primary cause).

At any rate, if you let it dry out for several days, you probably won't cause it any more harm.

So I let the monitor dry out near a space heater for about 5 days and then opened the case and used a heat gun (about 3 feet away from) the monitor to make sure no moister was still in there. I powered it up with a PC attached and it works just fine. :)
