I would like to design a circuit to turn on and off the heat in my house, and to record the data, (Time, Temperature, and Heat on or off).
First I have a few questions.
Are there more sophisticated ways to take the outside temperature? Can I get something like the AccuWeather RealFeel Temperature?
Should I make a sophisticated temperature circuit or can my circuit get better temperature data from the internet?

I would not depend upon the internet except for recording data--for heating your house, take your own measurements

 

should i just use the TMP36 - Temperature Sensor and be done with it?

 

If you are wanting to heat your house would it not be better to measure the temperature insude the house ?

After all the property may be well insulated so that with it being cold outside it may be nice and warm inside. Having an external sensor will trigger the heating when it isn't required and thus costing you money.

 

I need to take both inside and outside temperatures.
Outside is more for data collection than to turn on/off heat.
