I'm trying rewire an engine I've been taking out an old washing machine I just want the motor to go to the main wall socket I'm very new to this so any help would be appreciated p

 

That appears to be one of the older M/C's that ran a Universal motor, only 2 wires required, the machines used a IC device TDA1085 for RPM control as these motors run at uncontrolled RPM without it.

How would I go about it it's got a box attached that has brown wires coming out If you could help or put me on to someone that would be good pal

Identify the two conductors that end up At the motor, one should be connected to the fields and the other the armature, Unless the commutator is in the middle of all three, (2 fields and armature) the two red ones on the end are probably the tach, needed, if it has the Motorola IC controller.
I have the TDA1085 circuit somewhere, I will post it if needed.
