Hello can some one please help me find a circuit that runs about 18-20 individual leds on a led strip please. I know how to do this using a 555 timer fading 1x 5mm bright led, but i don't know how to connect a foot long 5050 strip on leds, drawing about 300mA.

The below example is how I was driving a string of 5050 RGB LEDs using a uC but the MOSFET portion would be the same.



You would drive your MOSFET(s) from your 555 with a PWM signal. The RGB LEDs were common anode in my circuit.

Hi Ron thanks 4 that comment, i don't now how to do PWM on a 555 timer, but i'll try & find a project similar & experiment.

 

A simple Google of 555 Timer PWM Circuits should get you plenty of hits. Pretty common circuits.
