At me last employer, I had Visio, and it had templates for all kinds of technical drawings, with brief descriptions of Electrical symbols, schematics drawings, and the like.

Does anyone know of a freeware or shareware that offers similar features, something that has electronics and electrical drawings / symbols?

Thanks,
Gary

You can get Dia, which is an open source visio look-alike from the following site http://www.gnome.org/projects/dia/ but if you are looking for a purpose designed circuit drawing package I would go for TinyCad at http://tinycad.sourceforge.net/.

This is also a free package with a reasonable range of symbols but you can easily draw your own symbols and add them to the library.

Then all you need to do is team up TinyCad with FreePCB http://www.freepcb.com/ and you will have a totally free fully functional circuit drawing and board layout package.

All are good links, thanks alot.

Bill,
I haven't quite figured your PaintCad out yet.
I tried opening one, and it launched my browser to open it?

I'll tinken with them further.

Thanks,
Gary
