Vibration Board

I want to make a kind of, vibration guitar fret board for my final major project at uni, where you press different different frets to get different frequencies and intensities of vibration.

any ideas of how i could do this? pretty new to electronics really, was thinking of getting the vibration (dualshock part) of a ps2 controller and linking it up to buttons sending different frequencies to it to create different intensities of vibration, but how would i do this do you think? or is there another way of replicating it.

any help is greatly appreciated.
