I have a question about connecting a VHF radio with GPS.
Am I right, that a VHF radio needs input from a positiv and negative wire and the signal that must go into the VHF must be NMEA.
My question is now, what signal does a simple GPS antenna like this one put out:

If I have to buy a marine GPS to connect to my VHF radio it would cost me quiet a bit, but if a cheaper solution could be found, I would have the nice DSC feature and a nice safe gain of my VHF radio.
