Variable Atx psu

This is an atx psu that i have modified to variable output by altering the feedback path on the IC. It uses a KA7500 ic or (TL494 the same) i am getting 2Vto 10V on the 5volts supply, and 4.9V to 28V on the 12Volts supply, the videos here show how to do it, (the camera has a poor focusing so sorry for low quality).

The atx is a 500W and i can get upto 26Amps on the output.:cool:

Good idea. Might give that a try when I eventually repair my old one.

Probably the electrolytics.

It's old enough to be put under the "likely capacitor plague" heading.
